A Dog Day at Citi Field
Beso & Bailey's First Bark in the Park Adventure
We’ve had our eyes (and paws) on Bark in the Park at Citi Field for years — and this year, we finally scored tickets! It’s one of those New York dog parent bucket list events that always sells out so fast, and for good reason. Dogs + baseball + summer night in the city? Yes, please.
After years of watching other pups trot across the field in adorable jerseys, we were thrilled to finally bring Beso and Bailey to their first Mets game — and let’s just say, they understood the assignment.
🚇 The Journey: Two Bernedoodles and a Rush Hour 7 Train
Getting to the game was its own mini adventure. We took the 7 train to Citi Field, which… if you know, you know. Packed platforms, standing room only, and lots of surprised faces when two floofy Bernedoodles hopped on board. But in true city dog fashion, Beso and Bailey handled it like pros — and made plenty of commuters smile along the way. One guy even gave them a “Let’s go Mets!” paw five.
⚾ Bark in the Park: Where Dogs Steal the Show
Once we arrived, it was immediately clear: this wasn’t just a game night — it was a full-on dog celebration. The stadium was packed with pups in Mets gear, from tiny Chihuahuas in jerseys to golden retrievers wearing baseball caps.
Before the first pitch, we joined the pre-game dog parade around the warning track — yes, ON the field! Seeing all the pups strutting their stuff on the diamond was surreal (and extremely cute). Bailey trotted along like a seasoned ballpark pro, while Beso tried to make friends with every dog she passed. Classic.
🍦 Treats & Tail Wags
The night only got better from there. The girls got so many compliments, pets, and treats throughout the game. The highlight? Vanilla ice cream served in a mini plastic catcher’s helmet. Total core memory. They also scored biscuits from dog-friendly vendors and made a few furry friends in the stands.
While the Mets gave it their all on the field, we were mostly cheering for the dog section — and the joy of seeing so many happy pups in one place.
🐾 Final Thoughts: 10/10 Would Bark Again
It was honestly the best night. Between the good vibes, the on-field parade, the treats, and the puppy love all around, Bark in the Park exceeded every expectation. We’d 100% do it again — and next time, we’ll be logging on early to snag tickets before they’re gone (again).
Until then, we’ll be dreaming of ballpark biscuits and Bernedoodle baseball nights.
