Making the Most of Their Summers ☀️
Dogs only get 10–15 summers… so we’re making every single one count.
They say dogs only get about 10–15 summers in their lifetime. When you think about it that way, every season feels even more precious. That’s why we try to fill ours with as many dog-friendly adventures as possible.
This summer has been all about balance—giving our city dogs wide open spaces to run and splash, while also being mindful of their needs. One of our pups is a mountain dog mix, which means she’s not built for long days in the heat. So we’ve learned to shape our travel days around early morning swims and evening play sessions, when the air is cool enough for her to truly enjoy herself.
It’s in those golden hours—7am swims in the bay, chasing each other across the grass until the sky turns pink—that we’re reminded how fleeting these seasons are. We’ve loved trading in crowded sidewalks for big, open yards and swapping city sunsets for Adirondack chairs, wine glasses in hand, while the dogs run wild before bedtime.
These little moments—wet paws on the porch, the glow of a fire after grilling, the content sigh of a tired pup—are what make summer so sweet. And it’s why we’ll keep saying yes to every chance to explore together. Because 10–15 summers may not feel like enough, but if they’re full of love and adventure, they’ll be more than well-lived.
